The Spring Fling event, delivered by NHS Lanarkshire Health Improvement Team and Voice of Experience Forum, successfully engaged older adults in Public Health Priority 4 – aligned with NHS prevention and inequality reduction strategies. The event focused on reducing tobacco use, addressing harms associated with alcohol, drugs and gambling, improving awareness of falls prevention and increasing access to support services.
The Spring Fling event delivered clear impact aligned with NHS priorities:
- Prevention: Encouraged early awareness and behaviour change
- Health Improvement: Increased knowledge of key risks and support services
- Inequality Reduction: Improved access for older people who may face barriers
- Community Engagement: Strengthened connections between services and individuals
- Co-production: Enabled meaningful community input into planning processes
The addition of wellbeing activities (e.g. Super 6 and silent disco) enhanced engagement and demonstrated a holistic approach to health.
